FAQFrequently Asked Questions
Are Chiropractic adjustments safe?
Yes. Chiropractic is widely recognized as a safe and effective approach to spinal healthcare. Full scientific reviews of the literature (Cochrane Review) have reported that spine manipulation is one of the safest approaches for spine pain compared with many different medical approaches. If you would like more information please contact us.
Is there a click/crack when a chiropractic adjustment is performed?
No, it is not necessary to hear a sound for a change to take place in the spine and nervous system. Every person’s spine is different. As we age the spinal joint changes and a sound is not always heard. A high velocity, low amplitude force in the correct direction to ease the joint back into joint function does not always produce a click or a cracking sound.
Are all patients adjusted the same way?
No. Each patient is unique. Dr. Adele Lorigan (Chiropractor), uses on her extensive knowledge to adapt her techniques to the patient’s needs at each visit.
Why doesn’t chiropractic work for some people?
If a trial of treatment makes no improvement or if other problems are outside the scope of practice, a patient is referred. Usually the patient’s medical practitioner is the next point of call with a note from the chiropractor outlining what has been done and what may be needed to be done next. We also refer out to naturopaths, acupuncturists, personal trainers, podiatrists, physiotherapists, cycling coaches, life coaches as required.
